Wedding Pre shoots

Booked me for your wedding photography ? Adding a pre shoot to your package will help ensure you relax as much as possible on the day…

So if you’re considering booking me to photograph your wedding, there’s a high chance it’s because you don’t like posing, maybe you don’t like the idea of being photographed at all.

But you’re here, which means despite this, you still love and value stylish wedding photography that won’t date. And that is entirely possible, even for those who don’t like the camera.

(With me as your wedding photographer anyway...)

One of the ways we can achieve that, particularly if photography is something that’s making you feel stressed, anxious or worried, is to arrange a wedding pre shoot.

It might sound strange to suggest taking part in a photo-shoot to somebody who doesn’t like being photographed but as you’ll learn in this post, pre shoots are as much about wedding day, as the photographs we’ll capture during a pre shoot.

Because a wedding pre shoot has two objectives. The first is obviously to capture some beautiful photographs of you both as you countdown to your wedding day. The second is to help ensure you feel as relaxed as possible on wedding day.

Thank you for such a brilliant shoot last week! We absolutely love the

photos, Bruce had the best time and we cannot wait for our

wedding next year!

Honour & Henry

As you already know, I shoot the majority of most wedding days in a natural authentic documentary style. This means ‘ fly on the wall style ‘ photography; you know I’m there of course because you booked me, but it will be easy to forget because I blend in to capture the day

organically as it happens.

However, even the most passionate documentary photography fans can’t deny that couples shots are an important part of the day. This is when I’ll ask you to spend a few moments together without your guests so I can capture some wedding day portraits of you as newlyweds.

Once you book a pre wedding shoot, here’s how it will work. First we’ll decide on a location. Here in Norfolk where I shoot most of my weddings, we’re not short of incredible beaches and beautiful woodlands, but if you have any suggestions I love to hear them!

Then when we meet, we’ll start with a chat and then I’ll just ask you to simply take a walk and have a laugh together and do whatever comes natural after that. It really is that simple.

If your children are taking part in the wedding and you want to bring them along to get used to me and capture some family shots, no problem.

As we move through the shoot I might offer some really gentle direction to help you feel more confident and get the best from the shoot, but by then you’ll be having too much fun together to worry. Really.

This means you can stop worrying about photography on the day, which in turn means I can capture you looking and feeling relaxed so you can expect the kind of shots that got you interested in my work in the first place.

Once I’ve edited the images, you’ll receive a digital link to download featuring a selection of colour and black and white shots. They’ll be perfect for your save the date cards, wedding website or to hang on the wall.

As with all of my photography the images are yours to use however you wish.

Of course you don’t need a pre shoot to get brilliant wedding day photography, but if you want to settle the nerves talk to me about adding a pre shoot to your wedding photography package HERE.

Family Shoots

Talking, laughing, sitting, hugging, THIS is all I need from you to be able to capture the kind of stylish and timeless portraits that will never date. Book a session or buy a voucher  Want some beautiful family or couples photos in my signature relaxed, natural style ?

My vibe of family and couple photography is best described as  ‘candid lifestyle.’

Because all though of course the very nature of a photo-shoot means you know you’re being photographed, I still want

my images to look as natural and ‘ authentic’ as possible.

In short this means though we’ll need to engage, I’ll never ask you to create silly or embarrassing poses because natural and relaxed is what I’m always aiming for whether I’m photographing a wedding or family and couples portraiture.

Just like wedding photography, I believe couples and family photography should capture the real you and the real connection between you and your loved one or loved ones – something that isn’t going to happen if you’re over posing.

So though on these type of shoots it’s necessary for me to offer a higher level of direction then when I’m photographing a wedding, it’s gentle, simple and easy to follow with the sole aim of helping you feel and look your most relaxed in the photographs.

I want you to feel and look as relaxed as possible because this is when I’ll capture you and your tribe at your best so any direction I give will be to help you look like you’re not posing.

Helping your subjects to relax in front of the camera is part of the skill with photography and anyone who’s been on a family or couples shoot with me is always surprised at how relaxed they feel.

In fact my style of photography seems to attract people who don’t enjoy being photographed, but still want and value great, stylish pictures.

For me to capture some great frames, all you have to do is be together and interact together as you would normally during a walk on the beach or stroll through the woods.

It really is that easy.
